  • IBEW represented employees covered by the Service Contract Act generally earn higher wages, have better benefits, and working conditions.
  • Without union representation, health and welfare benefits stand at a fixed rate that is determined by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL).  This rate is often significantly less than the rate earned by employees with union representation.
  • The costs of the wages and benefits negotiated for unionized employees are passed through the federal government once per year, effective each October 1, and do not impact company revenue.  This means that your employer will not lose its competitive edge.
